I am quite in love with birds this season. I think it all started with the paloma bird print, which I just adore. So for the last few weeks I have been working on a few birdie ideas, and finally I have a little character who I love. So now is the time to introduce Miss Betty Bird. I have pages of sketches and a few patterns of her ready to go and this morning I finished my first applique version.
This little set is a present for Lottie's friend Lili-Rose who will be three next week. She is quite a bit smaller then Lottie, so it should fit her perfectly as it is a bit on the small side for Lottie.
I used two of the fabrics I picked up at Spotlight last week and I think they work really well together. I had planned a tier skirt, but Lili-Rose is so tiny and petite and I thoought she may be a bit swamped in it so I think a simple ruffle skirt will suit her better.
So now I think it is time to take the big leap. I am going to have a go at either etsy or ebay and see if Miss Betty is as appealing as I think she is. I have always made the excuse that I cannot finish things professionally without an overlocker, but this skirt was easy peasy and is all french seams, and the applique top needs no extra finishing anyway. So no more excuses, I think it is time to take the leap!
