Pyrex, Cakes and Presents!

Did I tell you I love Pyrex. Going through nana's boxes has reignited my love. Sometimes when you use something everyday you forget just how beautiful it really is. These are two of my favourite bowls. I have had them for a few years and am yet to see this design anywhere else. I would love to come across more of this range. If you are a pyrex fan, check out this site. There is an amazing amount of pyrex info and lots of pretty pictures. I just wish there was more info out there on Australian Pyrex.

And here is a lovely pyrex bowl in action. Look at the oh so pretty apron Lottie is wearing. It was sent to her by Bec and looks even more special worn over a pink tutu. You can't see the tutu in this pic, but believe me, when you are three tutus are essential attire when baking fairy cakes.

Here is the result of all that mixing and baking and frosting and spoon licking.

I was very good and just ate one. I even tried to choose the one with the least frosting as these are truly a sugar overload.

I was all excited a few weeks ago as I was approaching my 100th post, then this morning I realised I had missed it! All that anticipation just to notice that this is post 102. Oh well, it is still present time. Leave a comment and Lottie will pick a lucky name out of a hat next Monday morning. I will bundle up some goodies and send them on their way anywhere in the world. So do you want a present? Come on all you lurkers, now is the perfect time to say hello. Don't forget to make sure you leave a email or a blog link so I can let you know if you are the lucky one.

Just as well I normally leave a comment or I would feel like an opportunist (which I really am). The cupcakes are gorgeous - can you share the recipe for such a light and fluffy sponge please.

Oh, yes, we perfectly understand having to wear a tutu while baking - we do that in this household too! And I wouldn't worry about missing your milestone. I thought it was perfectly fitting that the 100th post featured some divine fabric purchases. Very 'Lottielulu".

I did not even realise that pyrex came in patterns - we have only the clear glass stuff (but I use it every day). Very yummy looking cakes too.

Ooh, cupcakes! I haven't had one in ages. They look really yummy, and Lottie's apron is perfect to wear while baking too ;)

My grandma used to have those mixing bowls. I will have to have a look to see where they are - hidden at mums probably.

Your cakes look beautiful - is that cream in the cakes?

By the way Lottie looks just gorgeous and when you are three you are allowed to wear whatever you like!!!

I'm a pyrex fan too! Seeing the ones you have makes me want to go over to my Dad's house and raid some of my mum's dishes, I'm sure she had one with that print on it! The apron is adorable, and I must say you did very well to eat just one of those delicious looking cakes.

LOL - offer up some goodies and look at how many comments you get! Thanks for the comment you left on my blog :) I love licorice allsorts, so no wonder that fabric appealed to me!

Those fairy cakes look so good! Love the apron over the tutu - and thanks for the warning. No doubt miss Romily will want to do the same in a year's time!

I agree that you cannot possibly make fairy cakes without a tutu, they just wouldn't taste the same, and they look absolutely devine.

And I will keep my eyes open for that design of pyrex everytime i go into an op shop from now on.

Aren't there days when we'd all just like to put on a tutu and bake fairy cakes!

Thanks for welcoming me to the sewing group Ingrid and happy 102nd post!

I love the cupcakes, they remind me of the ones my mum used to bake, and we used to call them butterfly cakes as they looked like little wings in the middle of them. I love your daughter's apron too, so pretty.
