melbourne

Melbourne is glorious. I love it! But do I want to live there? Hmmm, still figuring that one out. Of course if I could live on this wonderful street in East Melbourne where we spent the last few days my answer would be a definite yes. But until we win lotto we will have to look further away from the city, and as much as I adore Melbourne I still dont know if it is the place for us.

While there I popped in to mikes but missed the lovely PIp. And I even got the chance to duck into Amitie while Mr Big was visiting estate agents. They were having a sale so I filled a lovely bag with goodies but then left it at the hotel! I can feel you all sighing and fearing the worst, but the lovely hotel manager has located my bounty and will be sending it home to me.

Oh and while at mikes I bought the most wonderful chook for Lottie as well as a few other bits and bobs. I promise pics in a few days.

Sounds like you're in the process of making a very big decision...to move or not to move??? I hope you come to a decision soon and feel 100% happy and at peace with it. And that sure does look like a lovely street in your pic...wouldn't we all love to win lotto!!!

You could move a long way from the city - like an hour or more ! and then you'd be in Ballarat with me and Flower Garden and four wise monkeys.
Goodluck with whatever you decide.

Oh I have been thinking of you these past few days...such a hard decision to make.
Hey, I was at Amitie too, so sad I missed you.

Hhmmmmm, it's a big decisions isn't it! Matt and I love Melbourne, but in the end we just couldn't stand the weather (and 8 years down the track we still LOVE the weather in Brissy). Luckily, Matt's family are all still there, so we get to travel back a couple of times a year. For us, Melbourne is the BEST place to visit....but as for living there - it just wasn't for us. Good luck with your decision (and boy I wish I was visiting Melb right now - I bet the autumn leaves are beautiful!!!)

We did Melbourne over easter and thought how great it was. But the drive back to the Blue Mountains via Wagga Wagga, Young, Bathurst then up to Katoomba with beautiful autumn leaves and fresh air - it reaffirmed that we made the right decision living here.

We are only 1.25 hours by car to Sydney which means I can still do all the markets I want to. And our rent is pittance compared to the city.

Can you live just outside Melbourne so you get the best of both worlds?

I was in Amitie on Friday afternoon! I live just down the road.
You'll come to the right decision.

What is it with you leaving your fabric behind! Fabric fog, you love to buy it then forget to take it home, perhaps you should post it all to me!!!
Melbourne V's Sydney, hmmm, why not Perth V's Sydney? We have Textile Traders here!

Melbourne's my home town and I will always miss it! And I have never been to Mike's or Amitie so you're one up on me. Thank GOD the manager found your fabric! That would have been a disaster!

Why don't you try a visit to Brisbane just to make sure? You won't have to pay for accommodation ;)
I love Melbourne and hope to settle there even though Adelaide is 'home' for us, but I have to say, living there is so much nicer than visiting. You'll make the right decision for your little nest Ingrid. You've got friends no matter where you go x
