golden gumnuts

It has been raining all weekend here. Heavy rain. Don't leave the house rain.
When the kids started going a bit crazy I suggested making golden gumnuts.

We are very lucky that our school has a lovely bush setting. At lunchtime the kids play up on the top oval at Pickle Town. Pickle Town has been around for years, it is a thriving little business community selling ground dust, dirt tattoos, massages, hair styles and just about anything else the kids can come up with to sell in their little shops. The currency is gumnuts. And lately Lottie has been talking about golden gumnuts, so I thought it was time to make some.
Let's just hope the rain stops so the kids get to go to Pickle Town tomorrow and spend all their loot.

you are such a cool mum Ingrid- golden gumnuts are going to be all the rage up in pickle town! I am sure it wont be long before Grace is asking for us to make some of those treasures!

that is the coolest idea for a kid store! I have no idea what gumnuts are, but I'm guessing we could use pinecones here and get away with it. I am tucking this idea away for a few years from now. It is gold!
