a lovely day out

Yesterday we woke up early, the sun was clear and bright, football was cancelled because of wet fields - so it was the perfect day for an outing with the kids. We hopped on a bus to Manly, a ferry to Circular Quay and then another ferry to Watson's Bay. The kids climbed trees and ran around the park, enjoying a day outdoors after what seems like weeks of rain. We ate fish and chips sitting on the grass and soaked up that glorious sunshine.
On the way home we stopped at the Quay for some gelatissimo, dozed on the ferry ride back to Manly and came home exhausted.

It was a fabulous family funday sunday. If you are in Sydney you should try it. Next time we are planning to head to Woolwich for lunch at the pub - hopefully there will be some trees to climb.

Looks like we swapped sides of the harbour over the weekend. There's something really lovely about a sunny winter's day.

We were on the ferries too - I went from Balmain to the Quay to see the 52 Suburbs exhibition. Such a gorgeous day. I felt very smug when everyone else in the queue was buying $30 ferry day passes and mine was $2.50!
