school holiday art

It is raining again. It seems to always rain a lot in the September school holidays. To make another day inside more bearable we went out this morning and bought some new art paper and brushes. The kids spent the morning sketching out their ideas and then when Kitty went down for a nap they painted them with water colours. Once they were dry we went over the top with a black marker pen. Tomorrow we will crack open the new acrylic paints unless the sun decides to come out. By the end of the holidays I should have enough artwork to create a gallery wall in the house somewhere. Maybe something like this.

No Kitty style this week. Maybe next week I will do a school holiday version with all three kids.

Oh the artwork, does it ever stop!? But in all honesty, would I ever really want it to! Love seeing each individual creation my Mr3 comes up with... and there are PLENTY of them ;o)
Gorgeous paintings here, beautiful colour.
Hope the sun decides to shine, so then at least you have the choice of what you'd like to do. Enjoy :o) xo

That's a great way to display kids' art. Hoping for sun over the weekend so hopefully it will take you a little longer to collect that many. Though heard on radio that Sydney hasn't had a rain-free October long weekend since 2007...

The extra 'pow' the black marker brings makes the artworks even more special. I was also having a chuckle because we also use the Ikea cups as our water jars when painting... x
